So it’s been a few days, five to be exact that I’ve been back in Chicago. Each night has been more or less the same and I’ve enjoyed it quite a bit. Meeting up with faces that I haven’t seen for a while, meeting new faces, having drinks and something out of nothing with only a couple of red bulls.
Of course this socializing that I’ve been doing has had great cause for it. First, I was back after two months away. Then it was St. Patrick’s day, one of the most worthless days of the year but why not take advantage of it and throw a few back, the our buddy finishes his collegiate career and finally a friend leaves for Florida, only to return in a week’s time.
Today is different. I wake up later than I had expected. I look outside and in panic I crawl back into my bed and try to wake up again hoping that what I saw before my eyes was only part of a bad dream. My friends, it’s no bad dream. The earth is covered in snow today and it doesn’t look like it’ll be stopping any time soon.
To think that less than a week ago I was enjoying some of the finest weather one could ask for and to wake up to the cold glow of white outside my bedroom window today, leads one to think that there is something drastically wrong with mother nature…or that I just travelled half way around the world. Regardless of that, I’ve decided that tonight I will probably take advantage of my netflix account and watch a film. There’s not a chance that I’ll be placing foot in that white substance today.
