what started off with a hilarious stevie wonder joke, ended with a major upset.

I started out being chip leader, then fell to the low stack with three players remaining. after the next guy was taken out, I was completely disadvantaged and the odds were really stacked against me. I was down to my last 75 bucks or so in chips and found my way back in the game with some really nice deals and I slowly cut away at the pot. before you know it I drew pocket kings followed by another king on the river to take the game and $190 pot.

the head-to-head lasted quite some time. probably almost half the time of the entire game. and there was still another game to be played. so you have 6 other guys that are all rooting against the small pot so they can get another shot at their monies. i’m sorry to have upset them. :)

another poker night back here in chicago, and after throwing away my opportunity in the second game I sat there, looked around, dazed in my own thoughts and completely taken out of what was happening around me, realized that I was back in Chicago and how awkward it was going to be driving straight home that night. not because yev was in the car, but because i usually would have a different set of plans and destination after poker night.

life can deal you some very strange cards sometimes. cards that you might never have expected or known what to do with. and if you’re good you can take them a long way, even if you are the underdog. to the point where you might actually win; even if it’s going to be the upset and everyone wants you to lose. and if you have luck on your side, then you might get even further. for me, i’d say that i’m just lucky to have been dealt this wonderful hand.
