The Queens Museum of Art isn’t the only place you can see a miniature New York. Using tilt-shift photography, artist Sam O’Hare created the time-lapse film “The Sandpit” from more than 35,000 pictures taken during a single week last August. With computer editing software, O’Hare manipulated his photos so only narrow planes of focus remained sharp, creating an effect that makes the city look like a model. He then assembled his shots—which range from scenes of crowds entering the Met to construction work at Brooklyn Bridge Park—over an original score.

St. Haralambos the Martyr

One of the saints recorded to have endured the greatest suffering of any martyr was the presbyter, Haralambos. As a second century priest in Magnesia, Asia Minor, he served his people with great faith and love. His reputation as a man of God had spread throughout the area and many people came to the Faith through his preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ. During a period of extreme persecution, Haralambos did not hide, but openly and boldly preached the Christian Orthodox Faith! When Haralambos was finally arrested for having the courage to preach the Gospel, his persecutors devised a plan of persecution for everyone to witness. Although he was tortured repeatedly, he never denounced his faith in Jesus Christ. For several months this persecution went on and not once did Haralambos weaken in his faith. Forced to suffer extreme pain and degradation, Haralambos continued to preach and many miracles and conversions took place among the people. When the soldiers thrashed the skin from his body Haralambos said: “Thank you, my brethren, for scraping off the old body and renewing my soul for new and eternal life.” In the final moments of his life, moments before he was to be beheaded, Haralambos lifted his hands to heaven and prayed for all humankind: “Lord, You know that men are flesh and blood; forgive them their sins and pour out Your blessing on all.” Following this prayer the saint gave up his soul to God and died without the sword being laid to his neck.

To the individual that stole my web site (layout, content, images, code), please remove it, take it down, delete the directories and files. we’re facebook “friends” so I know you’ll see this. believe me, i’m honored that you chose my site to rip off. taking credit for my work though, like The Super Terrific Talk Show, and about 4 other sites, just won’t fly. In fact some of my clients aren’t too happy that you’re taking credit for their branding. And in the future, don’t copy a site’s code line by line, especially their Google Analytics tracker, if you don’t want to get caught.

the facts of Bos part trois

each year I do a Facts of Bos post, below is the most current and even further below that are the previous entries. Enjoy…

Today I write these:

- sisters are not pregnant, but I have a nephew now.
- no more school classes, i’ve graduated.
- weather is terrible…cold, windy and snowy. (same as last year)
- the last movie i saw in the theaters was Avatar.
- the wolfman opens next week in theaters.
- current song: Kanye West - Good Life
- still using the iPhone 3G… it’s still working and jailbroken, but still not unlocked.
- my phone bill is still outrageously high and minutes are no longer such a problem since everyone has an iPhone now and mobile2mobile minutes are wonderful.
- i’ve canceled my flickr pro account. I never started taking photos and posting them really.
- i’m sure if i called my sister right now, she’d ask me what time i was going to be there.
- last week my hand went through my office window.
- this weekend is the super bowl between the colts and saints, my two least favorite teams. i could care less who wins, i’ll be cheering for the refs hoping they make some good calls.
- recording the Super Terrific Talk Show tonight.
- March 27th, 2010 will be the first Super Terrific Live Show.
- January 23, 2010 was the first Super Terrific Film Festival.
- i got a job as a web production artist… fulltime.
- i’m making this blog post while a my new fulltime job.
- helloBos.com expires today, renewing it right after this post.

January 23, 2009:

- sister is pregnant, again.
- online project management class hasn’t begun yet. but i’m sure it’ll suck.
- weather is terrible…cold, windy and snowy.
- i still want to go see slumdog millionaire
- notorious just released in theaters here.
- current song: Brazilian Girls - Good Time
- iPhone 3G now, still working. jailbroken, but not unlocked.
- my phone bill has never been hire and i can never seem to have enough minutes.
- i’m still not taking a lot of photos, but i did buy a flickr pro account for some reason.
- i’m sure if i called my sister right now, the baby talk would still be happening.
- the other night i dreamt that i beat the crap out of this kid.
- this monday i have classes for 9 hours. i hope it’s not too cold.
- goal for the rest of the month: get a job.
