Ai asked me to take a graduation survey; here’s what I had to say in the extra comments:

“Removing the Web Design and Interactive Media major might be the most backwards mindset an institution could be in. This is 2010, not 1910. Take this survey for instance, I’m not faxing this survey to you, I’m submitting an online form to you. Which more than likely was designed and programmed by a web developer, possibly even a team of them. Something tells me this “internet” thing isn’t going away anytime soon. And you might be able to find a few people that might be interested in learning to build for it and will pay your company lots of money for you to teach them how to do this. Just a thought though. I could be wrong.”

“They tell you read this, eat this, don’t look around…”

I was told earlier on in the day that my ego is inflamed and needs to be brought back down to earth. That I crossed the line of confidence and stepped into the cocky realm of things.

Ladies and gentlemen, I understand where you’re coming from when you tell me this. I’ve been told many times before, these same exact words. And I feel sorry for all of you. You don’t get it.

These people are products of staying the course and never trying to exit their skin and see what they’re really capable of. And maybe that’s cause they’re not capable of much. But I am and it’s my turn. I’m gonna shine on and leave my mark.

People are scared of my confidence, my abilities, my style, my ego, my charm. And that’s okay. There needs to be a division in society; it helps people grow and realize there’s more to life than being another number or statistic.

I get it.
